This former Scale AI leader developed a system that automatically gleans information from user reviews

In today's interconnected world, it's easier than ever to give feedback to businesses, but that doesn’t mean companies are analyzing every comment. A 2020 Productboard survey revealed that 90% of businesses struggle to capture feedback across all channels, and a third don’t have any feedback-gathering processes.

Varun Sharma experienced this issue firsthand during his roles at LinkedIn, Amplitude, and Scale AI, where customer feedback often failed to guide decisions effectively. In response, Varun teamed up with his brother, Arnav Sharma, a former Uber software engineer, in 2020 to create a solution. Together, they developed Enterpret, a platform that organizes and analyzes customer feedback to provide actionable insights.

Enterpret integrates with various feedback sources, such as sales calls, support tickets, and app reviews, to highlight trends and potential issues. The platform also aligns this data with product usage and revenue metrics, helping companies like Canva and Monday.com detect churn risks and validate product ideas. To ensure compliance with regulations like GDPR, Enterpret allows companies to define rules for removing sensitive data from their analysis.

Enterpret operates in a competitive space alongside tools like ScopeAI and Klaus, but its strategy has proven successful. Based in San Francisco, the startup has doubled its annual recurring revenue (ARR) and contract value in the past year. Recently, Enterpret raised $20.8 million in a Series A funding round led by Canaan Partners, bringing its total funding to $25 million. The company plans to use the funds to expand its team and enhance its platform.

“Customer feedback is the most valuable data set for any company,” said Varun. “Our mission is to build a platform for businesses committed to being customer-focused.”
